Our bodies go through quite a lot in the course of a day. This is why it is so important to be taking active and constant care of our bodies. We often make the mistake of thinking that we have an entire lifetime to correct unhealthy habits that we pick up, but too often we forget that not only is nothing in life certain, but we only have one body to carry us through this life. Similarly, when we eat late at night our bodies’ digestive systems wake up, making it difficult to go to sleep because our body is trying to process the foods we have just ingested. Our bodies are literally trying to take it lying down. Another great way to wind down before bedtime is to keep the bedroom for sleep only. This means no work, no device time, just sleep. When you enter your bedroom, the body will recognize this area as a place for sleep and relaxation and over time, this will become more centralized.

The human body goes through quite a lot throughout a standard day (and then some more on other days). Because of this, it makes sense that our bodies need the time we are sleep to rest and revitalize, preparing adequately for the coming day ahead. We know more now than ever about the fundamental importance of quality of sleep to our everyday lives, and it is something that we should always be paying the utmost attention to detail to.
